Wind hit 36 kts unexpectedly as we thought we were coming into shelter in the lee of Cabo Villano and its conspicuous wind farm. Reefed down again and engine ticking over for safety as Ursula’s pilotage takes over to negotiate the shoals on the entrance to the bay. Glad to be getting in out of this wind just in the nick of time.

Little difficulty getting Cerys into berth in the wind and some lost concentration on line handling. Anyway we are in and no bumps thanks to a little help from Moncho. We have decided to upgrade our berthing tactics and will have lines and fenders ready on port and starboard in future when entering an unfamiliar marina (always had fenders on both sides anyway). Also we have agreed to swap positions for a while. Ursula will take the helm and I the lines and fenders on our next trip.

This is a small and quiet marina. Marina office is the size of our galley with a couch for uncomfort. Big difference from La Coruna but nice to be somewhere more personal. We have met nearly everyone on the marina already including Graham from Nenagh.

The town looks quite small from the water. There is only one place to eat, a hotel that opens at 9pm. We are told to tell the proprietor that Moncho sent us. It is still unclear whether this is the reason he threw the menus at us. We will try and figure that out in the morning. Food is great though, Galician stew, bacon cabbage and beans (soup really). Ursula has more pimientos de pardon, salted baby green peppers she eats every day and then for main course Veal Chop and Grilled Chicken Breast both with chips. Really nicely cooked with desert and wine 27 Eur. Thanks Moncho
