 We arrived in the anchorage near Papeete at 2 a.m. and went into town early 
in the morning to do our check in with customs and immigration.  Maccas was 
close to where we came ashore so we had a quick breakfast before catching 
the bus downtown.  This outlet certainly had the best views of any 
Mcdonalds. 
![]() The island of Moorea, our next destination, as viewed from the anchorage, 
which was calm  even.. 
![]() with a big surf pounding the reef. 
![]() Downtown on the waterfront there were several groups playing polynesian 
music on ukeleles and guitars 
![]() The town hall had an exhibition of arts and crafts so we went in for a 
look. 
![]() Sandra was very tempted by this hat....

![]() This tiki in the grounds is very old. 
![]() ...and this one is a really mean looking fella. 
![]() Papeete market is always an interesting visit. 
![]() ![]() This stall is selling steamed pork and there was a long queue, so we bought 
some...delicious. 
![]() Other stalls were selling roast pork. 
![]() There were fish stalls with an amazing variety of fish.......... 
![]() ![]() ![]() .........and lots of fruit and veges 
![]() ![]() Paddling canoes is a popular sport and recreation thoughout the islands, in 
groups.... 
![]() ...or singly.... 
![]() ...or even with your dog. 
![]() These floating thatched huts were popular with groups who hired them for 
the day.... 
![]() and go down to the reef and spent the day partying. 
![]() ![]() Roadside fish sellers. 
![]() Snack bars with outside dining are plentiful. 
![]() We had an excellent meal at this one.
