We sailed from the south west coast of Corsica around to the south east,
heading for the town of
Porto Vecchio and stopping at a couple of anchorages on the way.

![]() Porto Vecchio old town was a maze of narrow streets, very pretty.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From Porto Vecchio, we took the bus for a half hour trip back to
Bonifacio for a closer look.
![]() We had breakfast on the harbourside, then....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We walked to the cliff top cemetery, billed in the local tourist guide as "
the second most beautiful
marine cemetery in the world". They didn't tell us what is the most
beautiful one.
![]() These are family crypts, very well looked after with fresh flowers, kept
swept and painted.
![]() ![]() Someone has made a house of of part of the old fortifications.
![]() A war memorial, brought back from Algeria by the French Foreign Legion, who
used to have a base in the
fort at Bonifacio.
![]() ![]() There are many restaurants, fitted into every possible space.
![]() ![]() ![]() About half way up the east coast, we said farewell to Corsica and headed
north east for the island of Elba.
