The sun sets on another perfect day.
Walking on the reef at low tide.
The dead coral is as hard as concrete, with sharp edges.
Feeding the fish at the back of the boat.
I'd like this island.
Lots of black tip reef sharks....
...thees are babies in the shallows...
...while the larger ones cruise through shark alley by the
restaurant.
Anchored in splendid isolation.
View of the pass from the restauant. We took the dinghy into the pass
a number of times just before
the tide started to come in. We could then snorkel along back into
the lagoon with the tide, admiring
the multitudes of fish, sharks and colourful coral. Absolutely the
best snorkeling we have ever had.
This pass was a well deserved reputation for the best diving in
Polynesia.
This little piggie hasn't gone to market....yet.
The chickens roam free, so if you want to have eggs you have to know where
they lay.
The remains of the first church to be built in the Tuamotus. Built of
cut coral blocks, it is now a ruin.
And lastly, the final resting place of a proud Australian...a venerable
Victa
lawn mower.
