The trip from Koh Samui to Labuan across the South
China Sea was 1000 nautical miles and took us 7 days.
Before we left, Sandra's Thai massage lady came on
board for a visit. She offered free massages if she could go with us, but
unfortunately she had forgotten her passport.

Lots of oil rigs on the way, very spectacular at
night but hard to photograph from a moving boat, so we only got one
picture.

Had a visit from some birds looking for a place to
sleep the night. They started on my head, then moved to various other
locations and slept till dawn. Andrew, our expert bird watcher from Port
Macquarie told me they were Friendly Swallows. Friendly indeed. Any
other bird experts able to confirm the species?
One went below and thought the top of the barometer
was a good bed, but when asked politely it hopped on my finger and I carried it
out.

Birdman of the South China Sea...Confucius say two
birds on the head are better than one in the hand. At one stage I had to
take off my glasses as there was a bird perched above each lens.

Four fought over the winch, but in the end three
swallows was maximum capacity

This other one slept on the clothes peg all
night
