Cleopatra's Beach, Castle Island. The sand is not from this
area, but is very similar to sand in
North Africa. Supposedly Cleopatra had the sand shipped in to make a
beach for Mark Antony.
You aren't allowed to lie on the sand, nor take any away, and you must
shower after swimming...
all this supervised by security. They are very serious about
preserving this beach and for good
reason as several hundred visitors come here every day
The theatre, part of the remains of the old Greek town which was sacked by
the Spartans and
the inhabitants sold into slavery
English harbour...so named because British SBS commandos operated from here
in 1944
