Kithnos was the last of the Cyclades we visited on our way to the Corinth
Canal and the Adriatic.
These goats were making their way out to the island via the sand
spit.
![]() There were 10 of these donkeys delivering building materials into the
town. They were loaded
in the car park, then went off by themselves to the building site.

![]() Corinth canal administration buildings at the south end. We had to
tie up to the wharf and go to
pay the fees.
![]() The yellow road bridge just above the water is lowered UNDER the
water to
let boats through. ![]() Now the bridge has disappeared below the water to let the ship come
through.
![]() The ship has gone through and we are on our way.....
![]() ......preceded by a pilot boat. We were the only boat going through
on this
northbound run.
![]() The railway, motorway and two other bridges over the canal, in addition to
lowering bridges at
either end.
![]() We stayed in the harbour at Itea in the Gulf of Corinth, and took a 30
minute bus ride to the foothills
of Mt. Parnassos to visit the ruins of Delphi.

![]() All the islands and cities of ancient Greece made gifts to the temple, and
each built their own treasury to store their gifts... this is the
treasury of Athens (rebuilt after
many earthquakes in the past).
