After a few days in Dubrovnik we travelled North up the Croatian coast visiting some beautiful islands.

The defensive walls at Ston to protect the peninsula

Roman palace on the island of Mjlet

Korcula, a small town that rivals Dubrovnik in beauty.

Marco Polo's tower in Korcula. He was reputedly born here.

Sword dance in Korcula, commemorating a victory over pirates.

Korcula town sits on a small island just off the coast of Korcula island

Hotel at Vis on the island of Vis

Anchored off the church at Vis

In the back streest of Starigrad on the island of Hvar.  Starigrad was founded by Greeks
from  the island of Paros in 300BC

An old tower converted into holiday apartments

The lion of St Mark, the Venetian symbol, in Hvar

Hvar waterfront with the Venetian castle behind

Sun clock on Hvar...not adjusted for summer time!  But otherwise correct to the minute

We hired a scooter to get from Starigrad to Hvar and back.
