We went on a couple of day trips to other islands, the first one to Floreana about 30 miles south of
Santa Cruz.

Careful where you step.

Marine iguana sun baking

We went on a bus trip to the centre of the island....

to visit giant tortoises enjoying lunch

A Sally Lightfoot crab...millions of them on the islands, this is a male.

Back on Santa Cruz we went on a walk to....

this gorge, which has both fresh water and sea water. The fresh water runs
underground in a lava tube, and then through another lava tube to the sea.
Lots of fish in here including lungfish.

Another day we went to South Plaza island,  passing the airport on the way.

The airport is on a small island 300 metres from Santa Cruz, so all passengers have to take a ferry
trip back and forth.

We landed on a small pier, property of this bull sealion....

...who wasted no time in making....

his feelings plain about our intrusion.

Breakfast for the pup.  There were lots of sealion pups here, racing around with boundless energy in
contrast to the somnolent adults.

A nocturnal sea gull according to our guide.

View back to Santa Cruz....

...to North Plaza island.

Iguanas galore....

Nocturnal seagull chick in its nest.

Sealion pups playing.

So now it's goodbye to the Galapagos and hello to the Marquesas...6000
km. to the west.
