NOT TONIGHT, JOSEPHINE.......

Just in case you think we're going mad (well apart from obviously we are), Josephine de Beauharnais (Empress J, to you and I) was born at Trois Ilets in 1802, so we are in good company having landed here yesterday afternoon.

Recommended to us by an OCC member, it’s a lovely quiet bay, away from the main bustle of Forte de France Bay and its tankers and cruise liners.

It's Carnival here and yesterday we narrowly escaped the wedding present being crushed by the local water ferry, a band playing and "singing" until the wee small hours, courtesy of the local festivities.  We shall watch the Carnival procession today - after all, what else are we here for?

Tomorrow an excursion on aforementioned ferry to Forte de France town centre (with the rib prudently parked, of course).

There’s more Carnival later this week, so our movements are uncertain!
