RIBS AND OTHER THINGS

Prim Teaze of Leith now has a launch plan. Her bottom
is antifouled and drying nicely. Her anodes are attached and the bow thruster
and propeller fitted snugly. She will wet her new bottom for the first
time on Monday. The launch will take place late afternoon and her nervous
owners will be on hand to witness and record the event, being handled by
experts. Her masts will be stepped on Tuesday and then the sea trails
begin. All kinds of on board systems will be fired up for the first time and
here’s hoping that the gremlins are happily absent from proceedings.
The wedding present is also making great strides and should
be launched at the same time, so we now have both road and water transport on
standby. Making sure that we have made best use of our time next week
means we return to Croydon on Monday to pick up all our stored goodies.
We should then be able to see if we can set all our gear on board and stowed by
the end of the week – guess that’s my job as Tom will be learning
how to make the systems work and ordering enough spares to keep us going for a
good, long while. |
