Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maartens.

Well, we have had a busy few days getting Sea Spray ready for her journey home and in particular the next leg between Sint Maartens and Bermuda, which we start at 10 tomorrow morning. The big disappointment is the Furlex. We spent a day and a half at a boatyard pontoon and the old Furlex is really beyond repair but rather annoyingly the yard did not have a replacement part or unit and so a lot of expense went into telling us that it doesn't work anymore. Nevertheless, it is not 'essential' as some crew think it is. We just do things the old fashioned way!

Christian has a lot to learn and so we will few drills on our way so that by the time we arrive in Bermuda he will be able to contribute positively to Ian's watch.

As I type this, Andy is in the galley preparing some meal for the freezer and the smell is absolutely gorgeous.

Ian has had his log book signed by the skipper of Spirit (the 65 foot Swan he raced on) and he has the T-shirt to go with it as well and so he is a happy little camper tonight.

The forecast is good. Light winds to start with, a mixed bag in the middle portion and strong southerlies to take us to Saint Georges at the end and our eta is a week Monday.

As my laptop has not fully recovered from its ailment, this may be the last blog until a week Monday but we will try to up-date it en-route.
