Bridgetown, Barbados. We eventually arrived in Bridgetown at 10.30 on the 28th of December and I think we were all quite glad to arrive. The formalities took some time as I had to check in with the port medical officer, customs and then immigration. However, after taking on water we were at the anchorage at 14.00  and Andy and me were fortunate to then be taken to a hotel with our partners, after swimming ashore which is traditional I believe! One calamity that did occur whilst we were clearing immigration was that after the dinghy had been inflated, it found its way under the stern frame in the swell and was punctured, for a second time, hence the swimming ashore.
Ian and Steve have been swimming to and from the boat for a couple of days now and yesterday they bought a toy inflatable which was barely adequate and so we now have a mooring in the local harbour which is handy as we have a problem with the hydraulic steering system.
Despite all the challenges we have had, we have arrived in the Caribbean and I would like to thank Ian, Steve and Andy for making it happen for me.
From all on Sea Spray, have a happy Hogmanay, a happy new year, or ‘blwyddyn newydd da’.
