Las Galletas Marina, Tenerife. All our visitors have now left and we think that they have all enjoyed themselves although the experience of living on a boat may have been completely new to them. The highlight seems to have been an hour spent on a jet-ski, which was good fun for for children from the ages of eleven to fifty three!
Ian flew to Lanzarote last Sunday to spend five days on a Yachtmaster Offshore (theory) course and the intention was for Andy and me to take Sea Spray there on Monday/Tuesday to start the repair work but the NE winds have picked up to force 5/6 and although we started the journey yesterday we were shipping waves over the bow and the inside of the boat statrted getting wet again so we returned to the marina. The forecast seems to be for easing winds tomorrow and Friday and so Andy I will will make a dash for Lanzarote tomorrow.
In preparation for the atlantic crossing, the sextant came out yesterday and the noon site compared favourably with the GPS latitude but further revision is needed in plotting the sun-run-sun position.
In the meantime, Andy and I are making the most of our ‘down-time’!
