Noon position 40 40N, 10 25W. It’s now been 24 hours since we left Bayona and we anticipate being in Funchal on Saturday. We have dried out as best we can but the weather in Bayona was very wet and that did not help us. The problem with the leaking hatches is that it is causing personal kit to become mouldy and so repairing the hatches is a priority. The saga of the watermaker continues and we are awaiting the delivery of a part to see if it will cure the problem.

Bayona is a very nice town and it has an even nicer mirco-brewery and we become on good terms with the owner/director, who gave us some beer for our travels. Research on the net by Andy has revealed a brewery in Madeira, which happens to be conveniently located by the marina in Funchal. Hopefully, we will amke last orders on Saturday night. However, there is a roast chicken dinner tonight with the ‘worlds best roast potatoes’!
