Noon position 14 32N, 46 35W, day’s run 125, DTG 766. Our sail plan remains unaltered although yesterday I did experiment with the mizzen and staysail. The mizzen I reefed down so that it wouldn’t blanket the main and the staysail I poled out using the whisker pole, but the results were unconvincing and by the time I had come back on watch, Steve had put them away and we were sailing along very nicely.
I was reflecting last night on the team we have aboard and we have all the main skills as a collective:
Ian “ The Chief” White. A qualified mechanic, Ian has worked tirelessly on the mechanical systems and has some ideas for improvements. His shore-side antics keep us amused.
Andy “Chef” Bozson. Andy keeps on turning out fantastic meals from our galley, and is also experienced with electronics and electricity. Andy is very laid back and takes everything in his stride.
Steve “Tactician” Morrison. Steve has routed us across the Atlantic and shared his sailing knowledge so that our skills have improved. Steve is very experienced and and full of sailing anecdotes.
I tried making some bread mix this morning but it has so far failed to prove much to everyone’s concern, as we were looking forward to some fresh bread. I will have to give it another go tomorrow.
