Bridgetown, Barbados. Tomorrow morning we hope to complete the repairs on the steering system and that will then allow us to sail to St Lucia on Saturday. Everybody we have dealt with have been very friendly and helpful and I’m glad to say that Glenroy is back with us to complete the jobs.

Ian is away to the airport with Steve, to see him off and to meet Louise, and Kevin has joined the boat. As a consequence of that, the skipper of his previous boat and myself will have to go to immigration together to sort out the new crew lists before we depart.

The hope is that tomorrow Ian and Loiuse can go off sightseeing and tomorrow afternoon I will be able to take a van to see some of Barbados. The transport system is quite easy and good value. As well as the public transport buses, there are 16 seater vans everywhere and both charge $2 to travel anywhere on the island, although the rides on the vans can be white-knuckle stuff depending on the driver.
