Return to base!

Since the departure date of 23rd August, we have all had a frustrating 48 hours. The new water maker refuses to work and with a bank holiday, getting it sorted is proving difficult but we are hopeful that our woes will be behind us by the end of the week. To make the most of the time, we took Sea Spray out yesterday and did some MoB exercises and reefing the mizzen sail, and this is giving Andy and Ian time to become familiar with the boat. Despite the little set backs, the crew seem on very good form, no doubt assisted by late night-team bonding meetings, but we may have to consider increasing the daily rum allowance! Today, we are sorting out some minor issues such as replacing bulbs, re-arranging the food stowage so that the fresh veg and fruit have a nice dark and cool place to live and making a kicker (vang!) for the mizzen boom.
