Roseau, Dominica. 15 18.0N, 62 23.0W. We arrived here this morning and anchored off Roseau in 15 metres of water. We turned in for a few hours and then went ashore to clear immigration/customs and we were having lunch at 14.00 and it’s all quite interesting.
We have just had lunch of fish creole style with rice, sweet potato plus salad with coffee, water and juice all for EC$65 (£16). Not bad!
The bad news is that after spending all that money and time in Rodney Bay on repairs we are no further forward. Our intermittent problem with the auto-pilot re-appeared last night several times and it looks like this is something we will have to live with until we can get someone from Raymarine to do a proper job on it. The Furlex will get sorted in Antigua and the binnacle light now needs repair after failing.
A few days ago I missed a very important birthday message. I can only celebrate half a birthday every year as my twin, Martin, celebrates the other half and so a very belated happy birthday to twinnie. I owe you a weekend on Sea Spray.
We are not sure how long we have in Dominica as Ian has to complete a first aid course to pass his YM Offshore and there is one in Antigua on the 2nd February and so we are investigating the option this afternoon before deciding what to do.
