As this is being written, we have a three way dialogue between the engineer, the UK distributors for the water maker and Sea Spray as to the way forward to resolve the situation that Sea Spray is in. A successful outcome will be found but it’s frustrating until this comes about.
In the meantime, the crew have been busy and making the most of the time available to us. Roger Fitzgerald (an inspiring man who has just returned from the Jester Challenge) came to Sea Spray yesterday and gave us a lesson on the satellite phone system and downloading weather information. Andy has managed to get all four speakers on the CD system to work, which is very important, and Ian has fitted a kicker to the mizzen sail and all waypoints to the Cape Verde islands are programmed into the GPS unit.
The fine cake that Andy’s partner’s mother (Beryl) has made has all but gone and some good meals have been produced from the galley, some with the new pressure cooker, which bodes well for moral but maybe not so for the waistline.
Lets hope that by the end of play today the solution to the  water maker problem is sorted!
