Jolly Harbour, Antigua. 17 04.0N, 61 53.0W. We arrived here yesterday at
12.30 pm after a very pleasant sail from Roseau in 10 to 20 knots of wind which
was coming from the north east which meant it was a headwind for a while, but
the full moon and warm air more than made up for the occasional wave over the
front end. As I came on for the 6 to 9 watch yesterday morning, the moon set,
the sun rose, I saw Montserrat and then Antigua in the space of the first forty
minutes. It was going to be a good day!
After the rather lenghty formalities we went into the marina and moored
bow-to the pontoon with the back end tied to piles. With this arrangement the
marina has a rib to sort out the back lines and they also assist when you leave.
We have confidence in the piles as Jolly Harbour is a recognised hurricane
hole.
After we had tied up we had visitors in that Kerrie and Andy came to the
boat along with their friends, John and his daughter Laura, who was celebrating
her twenty first birthday.
From all on Sea Spray Laura, we hope you had a great
day! |
