We left the berth at 0730 this morning having had our last showers and a large breakfast. Helen Bailey had come down the previous evening for a few drinks and to wish us well - we had a very pleasant hour or so before an early night. We were clear of the harbour for 0800 and headed around Antigua via Jolly Harbour and St John before setting our course as far east of north as the wind would allow. 5 miles our from Falmouth we found that the trip log had reverted to kilometres so we re- booted the systems and they settled down. At the time of writing we are close hauled on the starboard tack making a steady 7.5 knots and reasonably steady if a bit leaned over by Anita's standards. The wind is further north of east than usual so our effective - true course is north. Kuki has been great and her patches seem to be doing the job although neither she nor Charles are feeling on top form. Charles has been serenading us with songs obviously learnt in an all male public school. The surprise is that Kuki seems to know all the words! There are no real problems on boards - we are taking on board a small amount of water - probably from the hawse pipes and we have one of our three bilge pumps being a bit recalcitrant in Auto - probably some debris jamming the float switch - we will have a look at it in the morning. If the wind stays in this direction we will make as much northing as we can the hope that the wind will change at some point and we an get more of an easterly component into it.
