St David's day and we are back in Antigua. We left St Kitts at 0630
yesterday and sailed down the coast and through the passage between St Kitts
and Nevis. Once clear of the channel we were again head to wind and so motor
sailed with 100% of the main to give the boat some stability. A relatively
quiet sea with a 15 knot wind so a fairly lazy if slow passage as we butted
into the seas. We were off Jolly Harbour in Antigua by 1600 and were tied up
alongside on Wild Things berth by 1800. There was no one around to assist -
it being Saturday night so Anita had to jump ashore to handle the mooring
lines. All went smoothly and were soon all fast and heading for hot showers.
We had dinner at the end of the pier with David and Barbara who asked us if
we could help in advising which schools they might put their 9 year boy old
into when they came to England (they are Italian). They want a public school
that will take him all the way through to A levels. We have said we will do
some homework for them and email some ideas. Unusually for us we did not do
and cleaning up of the boat when we arrived so will have to do it in the
morning as well as visit and clear customs. When we are ready we will have
to get off Wild Things berth and move stern first into our permanent berth
next door. There is plenty of space at present and I guess we will do it on
Monday.
