There have been a number of emails asking how our schedule is doing. As most of you will have assumed – we are a little behind at present. John’s dad had a fall and damaged his pelvis. He was in hospital for a couple of weeks and John delayed his return to the boat as a result.  The original program was for John to be back on Osprey and start the mobilisation process on the 17th April. This has now been put back a week and he will now arrive back on Opsrey on the 26th April. The preparation time for the Atlantic crossing has been telescoped somewhat but there was plenty of float in the schedule to enable us to cope. We hope to be hauling the boat during the first week of May, and then Kuki joins on the 7th followed by Charles on the 10th. We still plan to leave Falmouth on the 16th May. Unfortunately Daveena had pulled out of the crew and we have decided that the three of us will be fine and allow for showers and reduced water conservation during the passage as a result. We will have the web page fully active next week. We have had a look at Kuki’s shopping list for the passage to the Azores and as a result have decided we will take Osprey to the supermarket at Jolly Harbour rather than trying to truck Kuki’s purchases to the boat.

Kind Regards

John
