Today we were supposed to have left by 8.00am but we were late leaving as
we had to have our last breakfast at the café! After eating 7 hashbrown
sticks between us (amongst a lot of other things) we headed for the boat.
After setting off and avoiding the millions of buoys attached to lobster
pots, we arrived at the open ocean. Then we had some very big waves and
the four of us enjoyed ourselves whilst bobbing up and down. However not
long later Anish, Ria and I became sea sick, and we tried to overcome it
but it was to no use because the sickness became worse and we had to lie
down- for just a few minutes- which ended up turning into 6 hours of
sleep, after of which we still felt very ill. Whilst we slept on the deck,
our captain (or skipper) and the self-proclaimed supernatural boy Rishi,
drove the boat for four hours each, and they kindly took over our shifts.
Disaster struck when Rishi went down into the galley to get a Danish
pastry and found both of the heads (bathrooms) completely flooded with
water, at that point we came to the conclusion that the water had come
through the sink and left it at that. A few hours later Rishi once again
went to check the heads to see if any more water had flooded, and yet
again he came back up to deck with more bad news- the water had flooded
into the cupboards which held all of our toiletries, which were now
floating in the cupboard amongst a vast amount of salty sea water. After
that Anita asked Rishi if he could go check their Head for water, and yet
again he had more bad news, their Head had also flooded! When we finally
arrived at Portland harbour and after a dangerous grabbing of a wrong buoy
we found the right buoy and connected to it and settled down. After an
hour Anish, Ria and I were back to our usual selves and decided to go with
John to go and get some pizza for dinner. After ordering 4 pizzas and a
salad for the 6 of us we popped into the souvenir shop next door- and
found the greatest sailor hats ideal for the whole crew, but we only ended
up with four hats as the skipper refused to buy himself a hat and decided
his first mate (Ani) would not appreciate the hats either. After eating
all but 2 slices of pizza we headed to bed and the ?late? time of half
past nine!
