Long day 6 to 6 and managed to get most of the pilot house put back together. I would much rather be splicing ropes than fitting curtain hooks – Ugh. The wind has still not eased off for summer here yet and if it doesn’t I will probably stay here until Charles flies out rather than single hand up to the BVI. Its classic regatta day today so will be making a trip over to see Phin tomorrow just to catch up and wish him well. Alico have done a great job to the companionway with new non slip treads on the ladder and a great job of the varnish work. Its just a bit on the shiny side for my taste, but that is the present fashion. The exterior of the boat still needs a clean up after the fire on the adjacent boat but I really need to move off the berth and out to anchor to do that properly – we’ll see how the weather develops. Have not stored yet so its off to the Cat Club for a meal. Will have to hire a car tomorrow and do a shop so that I can eat on board.
