The program for the coming season has now been fixed. Osprey
will be hauled during the first week of October at River Bend Marina –
which is within a few hundred yards of the berth at Guava Island.
Jonathan Walton and his son Finn will join John for the trip south from Florida to the BVI with
a planned departure on the 3rd of November. We will cross the Gulf
Stream to the Bahamas then
wait for a northerly, thence make an easting into the Atlantic
before turning south for the BVI. The berth in the BVI has yet to be confirmed
though we are hoping for a mooring at Sopers Hole. If this does not eventuate
we will go further south to our usual berth at the Cat Club in Antigua and bring the vessel back up to the BVI for Anita
when she joins. We will cruise the Virgin and adjacent Islands this season
ending up again in Falmouth, Antigua
for the race week. Osprey will then head across the Atlantic departing the Cat
Club on the 16th May for the Azores and then Smir in Morocco. Crew
for the crossing will be Kuki, Daveena, Charles and John. We will spend about a
week in the Azores en route. Passage to
the Azores should take about 16 days with further 7 days from the Azores to
Smir – 6 knots being the hoped for passage speed.
Kind Regards
John
