0800 Sunday morning (Captains rounds at 1000 and church parade at 1100) and
we should be at Fort George cut for lunchtime then through the reef to Pine
Cay. We have had a school of 12 dolphins playing with us twice in the past
12 hours - maybe the same school. Really beautiful creatures. They seem to
want to either make sure you are awake or are paying attention to them
because initially they jump out of the water and slap back in with a bang.
Once they are sure they have got your attention they get on with the show.
We have some great pictures which I will post when we next have a reasonable
internet connection. Water maker has performed well and has virtually
replace the water we lost from the after tank. Only disadvantage is I will
now have to sterilise it once we are at the anchorage as the membrane
deteriorates quickly at these temperatures unless used every day. We are
just about to cut across the 100 ft line so that we can test our sonar
before we get to the reefs. Have not had to use it much thus far and we need
some practice in interpreting the screens. These used to be simple gadgets
but are now so sophisticated we can even tract the individual dolphins on
high resolution. As we need the visibility around the reefs we won't be able
to use the tent today so we should be cooked to a turn by the time we get
anchored!
