Apart from the sand flies we had a restful night in Atwood after the exercise entailed in recovering the dinghy and Geoff. After breakfast Anita and John went ashore for a long walk along the beach to another cove which initially looked like a river. On the rocks opposite us were a number of large Conch shells which we could not readily identify from a distance. So, after the walk back and a swim we took the dinghy around to have a look. Someone must have placed them on the rocks but it was too shallow for us to get in and investigate further. We had an early lunch and had just finished when the wind backed 180 degrees so it was blowing directly into the cove and quickly increased to 25 knots. An emergency departure was called for before we were blown up on the beach. All went smoothly apart from us not being able to raise the dinghy which we subsequently had to tow through some medium rough seas for 30 miles until we turned the corner on Crooked Island and found another sheltered anchorage for the night. Another yacht was already at anchor here – Brrrrwind (an S & S 41 footer) and the skipper Robert Douglas came over for a chat – he is single handing at the moment and heading for Panama thence the eastern USA. Our dinghy is now secured on its davits again and tomorrow we have a relatively short haul  to Long Island then its on the Rum Cay so we may have a bit of a lie in until 0600!
