We are still (John in particular) having difficulty with the way the clocks work here in Gibraltar. Daylight does not arrive until 0800+ and there is little activity before 0930. I guess we are developing a form a sleeping sickness and tend to stay in our bunks until it is light. We decided to find the world war two tunnels today and it transpired they were about 600 ft up the rock. This proved to be a strenuous expedition as it was all steps from bottom to top. This involved many stops whilst we recovered about every 100 ft and took the better part of two hours. Having arrived there pretty shattered we were stunned to find that they were closed as it was a Sunday. Good exercise but it did bring out some fairly blunt comments from Anita about Johns organisational abilities. Ah well it was a pleasant walk down and we went to Casemate square for an extended lunch having decided we would have a light dinner of fresh bread and brie on board. As the sun became less fierce in the afternoon we spent some time cleaning the after end of the boat around the solar panels. This area was still fairly well coated with salt from the Atlantic crossing and it was good to remove the seagoing lashing and get the area cleared up. Tim and his wife have decided to see if they can get a flight from Morocco to Turkey, from where his wife Denise originates and we have offered them a lift as far as Smir on Friday or Saturday if it fits with the available flights. Tomorrow we are going to see if we can hire a car for the day on either Monday or Tuesday so we can go from a look around the eastern coast of southern Spain. We have yet to find out where the car hire place is so that will probably take Monday and we can do the trip on Tuesday. Wednesday we will be anchored to the hospital where Anita has her next appointment at 1030.
