We had an early wakeup of 6.30 today while Anish woke up even earlier at
5.45 to find a space at the Journey?s end marina in the RIB. However he
ended up leaving after we had all woken up at 6.45. While John and Ani
both headed to the loo, we filled up with water before we left for the
marina just 2 minutes down the coast. However John didn?t realise that Ani
had gone to the loo and therefore started the engine and we were just
reversing when Rishi shouted that Ani wasn?t back yet! Rishi jumped onto
the berth even though the boat was quite far away, just as we saw Ani
running down to us. In the end we decided to leave Ani and Rishi at the
berth and told Anish to go and get them in the RIB when we saw him. After
reaching the next marina a man came to sort out the problem with the oil
that we were having. John stayed aboard while the rest of us went for some
breakfast. After breakfast we came back to the boat but it was still being
sorted out so we played a game of cards while Ani had a snooze. After that
we decided to go to the local (and very small) grocery store to get some
necessities, namely water milk and bread. We left as soon as we returned
and set sail for Marshall Island- Sandy Cove. Anish and John were the two
navigators of the day, while the rest of us lazed and read our books. We
anchored at North Haven for an hour for our lunch and then we were back
out to sea.
The nearer we got to Marshall Island the harder it became to navigate our
way through the buoys and for a while we were heading for the wrong buoy,
but our skipper soon realised the mistake and quickly told Anish the right
way. After arriving at the island and anchoring, we let the RIB down and
the four of us went to go and explore the island. At first we stopped at a
part of the island that was only rocks and were very confused with the
lack of sand, however we got back in the RIB and around the corner we
found the sand! With a lot of difficulty we got out of the RIB and then
looked around the island for a while. It was very nice and the sand was
lovely, however the millions of mosquitoes and tics stopped us from
exploring anything but the coastline. After returning to the boat we ate a
lovely dinner of pasta and all had a very early night (we were all in bed
by 9 o?clock!)
