Wednesday 26th July

Although we did not sail anywhere today, it was a very good day. We
started off having breakfast at the Brass Compass, after that we went back
to the boat to grab a few things and while John sorted out some things on
the boat the rest of us went to go shopping. After finding yet another
sweet shop and Anish buying a pair of very interesting shoes, which
consisted of luminous orange and bright white!! We walked back to the boat
with our purchases and played some cards. The fridge and freezer on the
boat were being looked at and new solar panels were fitted at the back of
the boat.
After looking at a map of Rockland we found out that there was a kayak
hiring just around the next marina and Ani decided to investigate. She
hired kayaks for the four of us and we went out for 2 hours with an
instructor. Rishi and I were in one kayak while Ria and Anish were in the
other, it was very fun but quite tiring at the same time. Rishi and Ria
were the two that were steering the boat while Anish and I were at the
front setting the pace. Along the way Anish and Ria lead at the front
saying they were winning the race. We saw many Sea Stars which is the new
name for star fish. We also saw same birds from the puffin family. On the
way back Rishi and I were leading and we won the race, but Ria and Anish
claimed we were not racing! Tired out by the 2 hour kayak we returned to
the boat to have showers in the marina, however the showers in the girls
bathroom was not working and therefore I decided to go on the boat. This
was the first time I had used the shower in the heads and it was quite
nice, for the first two minutes when there was hot water, however the hot
water soon ran out and I was left to wash my hair in cold water! Ria and
Ani then wisely decided to use the men?s bathroom. We then left for
dinner and continued our usual routine of playing cards afterwards.
