Mike was on board at 0615 this morning and he fitted the bilge pump monitor whilst John sweated hard in galley over bacon, eggs and coffee. The monitor was in place within two hours – AND we had breakfast in the process. Mike is top notch and probably did it in a quarter of the time in would have taken John. He then went back to First Light and left John to set up the systems – all electronic – and this took longer than installing the equipment – fortunately both only need doing once. Mike returned at 1200 and boxed up the installation and we sat around for an hour chatting before John accompanied him across to First Light and let their lines go for the passage to Maine. We spent most of the afternoon emptying and reorganising lockers – and throwing out a lot of redundant gear to make some extra space. Called it a day at 1600 on the basis that it was Sunday and we were having a day off.
