Attempting contact, next morning

(As last night) necessitated calls

(Aborted), texts, and complex plans

Considered and redrawn til

Party Stacey was collected

From diesel wharf in Sant Antoni.

By an interesting and speedy

Route, past isles and beaches, and through

A channel “fit for dinghies, in

Fair Weather” (that took our skipper

By surprise) we made fair passage

And picniced in some splendour, all

Twelve of us.  Then our return, to

Windward, excelled all expectations,

And hopes of keeping dry.  Two boys

Particularly loved

The helm, while David was our

Figure-head, and those left lined their

Knees o’er windy gun’ale.  A lighter

Boat set on to Cala Salada

For evening rituals (now) of swims

And drinks, and preparations of

The celebrated Blackburn meal.

The anchorage was full and we’d

Failed at first to find a space.  This

Was the twenty seventh.
