Paul:
We are expecting a quiet day today and tommorrow and then we are due to have a few days of steady 20 knot winds blowing us due East which is perfect, so we should make really good time.

In the 3 days we have been away we have seen only one other boat and that was a super tanker miles away in the middle of the night, we have not even seen a plane in the sky. It is quite an unbelievable feeling being so far from land with absolutely nothing else in sight.

As expected the winds were fairly light and we motored for most of the afternoon, we had a pleasant evening and then from about 11pm the wind started to pick up, Carlos and I had a beautifull sail with about 10-15 knots of wind behind and a calm sea. We roared along listening to James Blunt and others at about 7 Knots it was absolutely magical. At about 1 pm we caught a fish it was about 2 foot long and its body was about 1 inch deep with a small sail running the length of its body, the weird thing was it had a huge head with razor sharp teeth.

In the morning the wind picked up to a steady 20 knots, as forecast, but the seas were building all the time. We made good time to our noon log and had moved 170nm nearer to our destination.
