At 11.15am this morning Faial came into view. After a fairly quiet 24 hours our jouney is coming to an end. We had a good amount of wind last night and having set our staysail we made every advantage of it.

This morning we saw our first whales blow about 50 metres from the starboard side of the boat, and then resurface a couple of hundred yards behind us. 10 minutes after this we saw a small group of about 8 to 10 fish swim acroos us, they looked like Dolphins but they had a black fin with a white back, we could only identify them as Minke whale.
