We set sail for Motril so that the Taylor’s sailing holiday might have
some element of sailing about it, but in the afternoon the wind turned to the
West and strengthened as we approached the point before Motril. As the seas got
bigger we realised that we weren’t going to make past the poit, so turned
back and sailed at 7-8 knots to Adra, a recently expanded marina. We couldn’t
raise them by phone or on the VHF so picked a good spot on a new but not commissioned
pontoon. A security guard turned up and allowed us to stay there. Had a good
dinner on board, rather relieved to have found shelter in time!
