Moderate wind in the lee of St Vincent, but the wind really picked up as we passed the northern tip of the island. We had a wonderful, boisterous sail with bright moonlight on the waves, and phosphorescence all around. The south of St Lucia was visible at dawn, and then the majestic Pitons came into view. We picked up a buoy opposite Petit Piton and spent a great day swimming, pottering in the dinghy with a photo session from the dinghy (which didn’t yield the hoped for magic portrait of the boat) and visiting Soufrière, although the kids found the small town dirty and threatening. A number of times we older ones were unaware of the drug pushers who sometimes hounded the kids. It was Josh’s last night, so an excuse for dinner at the Hummingbird restaurant, nice surroundings, swimming, view of Piton, food OK.
