Day 15, Sunday, 2012-04-28, 12:10 boat (18:10 UTC), 08:08S, 120:16W, COG 270, SOG 1.8, Wind <5kn SE, muggy

The last two days have been absolutely wonderful. We've sailed along, slowly but steady, in perfect weather with only little swell. We did our laundry, filled the watertanks, cooked, read, wrote, coded, and sat in the cockpit to talk, enjoy the sunset, and watch the stars together. You really can't ask for more. For us the ideal cruising days are when we can live a little of our normal life while being on the boat. For Liz this is writing books, for me writing programs. We miss our friends and family, and of course it would be great to have internet (especially when programming). But you can't have it all, right? Right. So .... happy.

Today is pretty much the same ... only no wind. Wind speed dropped steadily from 10kn to 5kn during the night, and one hour before sunrise that was it. Sail down, here we are. The current and old swell is still pushing us along with almost 2kn, but without a sail up to steady the boat it's also pretty rolly. We've decided to sit it out for a day, but I expect that there will be a little wind in the evening. If nothing comes up by tomorrow we're going to "re-evauate the situaton", but we both don't like the noise of the engine and rather wait. Thanks to 430W solar panels and desalinator we have unlimited power and water, and thanks to Liz fantastic provisioning we have food for 6 months. And the more we eat the lighter and faster the boat gets, right! :-) But it won't take that long to cover the last 1100nm, even with no wind.
