Wind Charger
Bob and Elizabeth Frearson

Well I think I have now recovered from the euphoria of crossing the
Atlantic in one piece (or was it the champagne?) and (thanks to several rather
surprised “readers comments”) I would now like to correct our arrival
date. Yes indeed, we arrived on the THIRD of January.
We had an absolutely wonderful night’s sleep (although there were some
complaints from el Capitaine regarding bed hogging now that the lee cloths have
come down between us). Haley and Fleur were up, over the side and on the beach
before breakfast this morning .
We have had a busy day retrieving rubbish from the boat’s every
orifice. It is amazing how you can make eleven bin bags disappear.
We’ve taken all our ready salted clothes to the launderette, and they have been
returned at half the size they were handed in, the girls have taken all the
rubbish to the dump meanwhile Bob was filling out forms for Immigration,
Customs and the Port Authority. We eventually scooped him up, with the
requisite papers, and headed for well earned beers and “not cooked by Elizabeth”
lunch overlooking the mega super duper yachts in Falmouth Harbour.
You know that not everything goes smoothly in Bob’s world. The
outboard packed up! By some miracle there happened to be Joe “the man who
mends engines” on the jetty going off to another job who can fix it tomorrow if
Bob can’t this afternoon. The only problem is that we got a tow from Joe
to Windy but have abandoned the girls in an internet cafe where they are doing
their coursework. Hmm, like all good series we will have to leave the blog
on this cliff hanger. Signing off for now,
