A pleasant sail north on Tuesday, initially the wind was west of north, most unusual but helpful, enabling us to ghost along up past Marigot bay and Castries. Admired the Queen Mary 2 at anchor offf Castries, much better looking than most of the cruise ships we have seen. On to anchor off Jambe de Bois restaurant on Pigeon Island, for a late lunch, before heading in to the fuel dock and then alongside at Rodney Bay marina.
Wednesday we headed in to Castries for various errands, lunch at a local restaurant, wonderful value at £3, and Martin finally summoned the courage to visit the barber - last visit in La Gomera last September! Much entertained by Megs and Julian, who sang and danced around while cutting hair, but it might be a week or two before the next photo! Then in the evening went out for a final meal with Charles at a rather good pizza restaurant along the road.
More jobs about the place this morning, including another trip into Castries for fruit and veg at the market. Four cruise liners in town today, so all a bit crowded. After lunch Henry set off to the airport to wish Charles farewell, and to greet George who is with us for the next week. We plan to head north to Martinique tomorrow, and then on to spend some time around the Saintes and Marie Galante, before returning to Martinique next Thursday.
