Day 297 - Galapagos - Marquesas, Passage - Day 24

Sunday 17th May - As of midnight day-24 we were
at position 9:37.45S 137:7.07W After 24 days at sea we finally saw another boat, infact we
saw tow boats together sailing into We have not had a lot of wind of late infact we have had
really dismal wind all with a touch of north in it for the last 2 weeks which
means we have been on a Starboard Tack for half the trip. Considering I am meant
to be sailing in the SE trade winds I am a little confused. Anyhow to top it
all off it is pushing back out arrival time by a considerable amount. In the
last 10 days we have lost a two and a half days. Not for one second have I been
taking it easy in fact we have had the kite up with the jib pooled out for the
entire week apart from once when a squall hit us and literally got me out of
bed. Day 297 Destination – Average Speed – 5.4 Total distance – 120 Nautical Miles Travel Time – 24h |
