We pulled up our anchor on 14^th of November at 07:15am and headed for Santa Cruise, Tenerife 28:27.99N 16:14.59W

Still more work to be done on the boat, I made a water catcher, cheaper than a water maker but then it needs to rain. We also spent time on just checking and double checking everything.

Special comments by Fiona: I immediately regretted the night before the moment I woke.  We had drinks with our friends from T Rex, Gazza, Del, Macca and Kath (how Aussie is that!) ‘Free to Be’ Joe, Mercia and crew and Tony and Tim from ‘Complicity’ and of course a couple of “quiet drinks” turned into a few more.  Needless to say it was another fun night but my head was suffering at 7am whilst we pulled up our anchor and headed north west for Santa Cruise, Tenerife.  It didn’t help matters that the sea state was choppy and more than unpleasant once we got out of the port.  Big lesson learnt – don’t drink too much the night before a big days sailing.  You’d think I’d learnt that by now.

Once we got out of the confused sea state we had a dream sail with 25 knots behind us the whole way.  A phone call from mum and Denji mid sail made me feel slightly better.  We arrived to the packed marina just before dark.

Santa Cruise was surprisingly bigger than I expected.  It was another busy city but what I liked about it was that it is set amongst huge rocky hills.  Ben and I didn’t really see much of Santa Cruise as once again we spent our time on the boat doing final (geez I hope so) preparations.
