Day 135 - Caribbean Passage - Day 9

Midnight we had made it
as far as 17:06.94N 26:24.77W – 4th of December, 2008. Engine Time – 4.25
Hour’s We had to motor for a long
time to get clear of the onshore winds blowing onto the hot volcanic It was a weird feeling
though taking off bound for the I feel really confident
in the boat, Silky, we had an amazing ride down to the Cape Verde’s not
to mention our trip from Gibraltar and every thing feels as though it is about
right. It was not long until I
caught a fish for dinner, I am slowly working out how Fiona like’s to eat
it. Typical though because she expects me to catch it, kill it, fillet it, skin
it, de bone it, batter it and then fry it. I must admit all the hard work is worth
it. Mmmmmm…. Special
comments by Fiona: We are finally off on our biggest
voyage yet. The months and months of preparation and hard work on the
boat are behind us and the journey has just begun! It’s weird
because this is the first time yet that I have not had feelings of apprehension
or fear at what lay ahead. Perhaps it’s my faith in the boat or the
fact that hundreds of other boats do this trip this time every year so it
can’t be that bad can it?? Day 135 Traveling Direction
