We pulled up our anchor Wednesday 1st of April, 2009 at 11;32 am and headed for another tiny Island called Canas in the las Paerlas Islands, Panama 8:23.006N 78:50.08W

We made it to a lovely flat anchorage and just enjoyed doing very little here for a few day’s, the place has a very small fishing village which we checked out. We were not really welcomed here, the locals seemed a little unfriendly but we did have a look around and watch the men repair their fishing nets.

The area we anchored in is a small canal between Canas and the largest of the islands Del Ray and surprisingly the fish life in the water here is very little in comparison to what we have experienced so far. The clarity is also pretty bad mainly due to the fact we now have 4 meter tides to contend with.

In our attempts to find something to eat we landed our dingy on the little island and knocked down about 15 Coconuts, drinking the ones that split and keeping the others for another day. I have now strung them all up on the back of Silky in a net. Last night I made Dad my famous rum punch using the fresh coconut juice, it is amazing how much each nut will hold, if you are careful you can drain a little more than half a liter out of each nut and then eat the jelly in side which fills you up. Infact we skipped lunch yesterday as we pigged out on fresh coconut meat.
