Midnight Day 4 - 31:52.24N
It was a pretty bad night, the boat was
making some noises that I had never herd before, noised like someone was
twisting the thing from side to side so I was a little concerned. Fi was also
not impressed and did not sleep a wink worrying her self sick that the boat was
going to roll.
There was a lot of wind still and it was
not to much fun on deck but down below she was very comfortable.
comments by Fiona: This was not fun
any-more and I wanted off! The sea state and wind really picked up overnight
and as a result of all the crashing, banging and things creaking I didn’t get a
wink of sleep. I was scared and more so worried that the boat would fall over
on it’s side from the power of the waves. Ben did every-thing he could do to
settle my fears but it didn’t work.
I sat up all night listening and watching
the boisterous sea and holding on tightly to the winches. I soon started to
hallucinate and was hearing things. A common symptom I’m told for people at
sea. Any-way, I could hear music coming from the ocean and not just any music,
this was Irish music that was driving me insane!! I could also hear people
calling out. Ben tried to get me to go to sleep but I couldn’t.
It hit 7am and I think from exhaustion I
succumbed and went down below, fell into a deep sleep for all of 2 and a half
hours. I prayed before my head hit the pillow that this howling wind and huge
sea would be gone when I awoke. No luck there!
