We winched up the Anchor Monday 15^th September at 7:34AM and motor sailed down the harbor inlet headed for Nazare 39:35.03N 9:04.55W 

There was not a lot of wind once again, so much for the famous Atlantic / Portuguese Trade wind’s, anyhow we motored all day again which only upsets me, in fact we motored for nearly 14 hr’s. A pain in the backside as it goes against my cruising ethic not to mention our budget, it was like burning money. I have calculated though that at 2450 RPM I will travel at 5 Knots in smooth water and burn approximately 1.75 Liters of fuel per hour so there you go. Having all this time to think I believe we now need to have a Jerry can holder designed and bolted on deck to allow an extended cruising range, I was thinking of getting another 3 jerry’s, 2 for Diesel and 1 for water, I only carry at the moment 10 spare liters of fuel and 10 spare liters of water which Fiona normally uses for washing cloths. Water to date has not been a problem as we have 2 split tanks onboard that hold about 350 liters and when we use it like we can make the stuff it last about 10 day’s, I think we could make it last weeks if we really tried.

Special comments by Fiona:. Unfortunately Nazare didn’t really do it for me.  We arrived in the dark to moor up alongside a huge power boat in the mariner as anchoring was not an option in Nazare.  We were kept awake most of the night by the swarm of sea birds talking away, about a dozen stray dogs barking and generally being a nuisance.  Not to mention the smell of the sewerage farm situated a mile from the mariner.

Needless to say I was rapt to be on the move again and heading down the coast to our next unknown destination!
