Im late, Im late for a very important date.......AKA good morning spot pickers or something like that they used to say on radio 1." Your everywhere and nowhere baby thats where Im at flying across the ocean in my yachty hat and its hi ho silver lining"  blablabla.

Well what a couple of days, left on time 09:00 monday morning and cruised down to the reef entrance known as Manula passage and out into the open ocean for the final ocean passage for the first Mate, Lesley will now become what id known in the yachty world as a Fe Fo which translates to Fly in Fly out, no more hard slogs or early starts for her and I thank her for the intrepid food planning of this trip.
Obviously did not get time to sit and blog as we were fighting off fishing boats and generaly getting our act together after departing with a slight hangover, having had dinner at Lulu,s in Denarau where they presented us with a flag, thanks to the owner Leyla.
Great progress so far with over 40 planned miles ahead of schedule and due to the forecasted winds we are carrying an extra 100 litres of fuel.
We are now into our 3rd day and life has resumed to offshore life that we know and love................who said that.

We now have information from Brisbane on what happens when we arrive and how we get to the heartbreak hotel under police escourt 2 hours after arrival.
Concerning the boats already berthed at Rivergate Marina there are a number of damaged vessels due to the currents and eddys of the Brisbane River and we are informed that you only have a reasonable chance of berthing at high tide slack so the timing will be everything especially after a long passage and then some 40 miles of navigating the Moreton Bay sound and channel which is full of shifting sandbars, Oh Joy after a long passage, but its what we do and we now know high water slack is 45 minutes after high water at the Brisbane Bar, which is not where you buy beer but 10 miles from our destination, the start of the Brisbane River and to add to that, incoming tide with 3 to 4 knots of additional current.

So all in all a breeze then lockup, see you all later.
