We are well clear of land now and had only just commented on the lack of marine traffic and had seen no fishing boats either. Off our Starboard side we could make out a vessel with no identification, could it be the vessel we had glimpsed yesterday.

The answer soon became apparent as it came directly towards us on a course that would just pass our stern, it was a massive fishing boat trailing gear from both its huge arms unable to alter course due to the amount of gear dragging behind, luckily it left us clear but was intent on catching all that came its way, lets hope on the next pass its not at night as he is not switching his AIS on which means we don’t know what he’s doing.

Enough excitement for one day lets get back to the job in hand which is for us catching wind, if the fishing vessel is as lucky as us he wont have much in his hold, motor on.
