One of the reasons to leave yesterday is the weather forecast, well actually the wind forecast, which shows a daily decline in the windspeed as we approach the Tuamotus’s.
These islands total about 200 and most of them are not visible until your on one, luckily our electronic charts are up to date for which we paid the princely sum of £250 just for the South Pacific, so we are relying on their accuracy to have a safe passage.
Along with the wind abating the sea state should follow suit so our intention is to Pass the islands in daylight as well as with in trepidation.
Our progress is good today with the wind holding steady which makes the skippers life easier and gives time to rest when you will need some in reserve at some time, but for now just staying as horizontal for as long as possible, next move is the midday log at noon, well it would be wouldn’t it.

Just trying something new today as I have a few minutes to spare and downloaded Photorazor in Nuku Hiva, which means that by reducing the size of the picture I can send it by net , now let’s see, so you may get a glimpse  of another boat I used to mess around on in the 70s, may just have passed this very spot before…………………………..
